Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC)  New London ELC

Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC) – New London Educational Learning Center ( ELC) this new ground up facility was constructed in partnership with the City of New London and the New London EDA. The project includes the design of learning communities which include classrooms, motor skills and work-learn spaces, and common learning space designed to meet the needs of special education students with severe disabilities, a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, and/or students who are having behavior issues. The design includes indoor recreation space, cafeteria/dining area, dedicated motor & life skills areas and administrative/staff offices. It is designed to accommodate future expansion.  The recreations space also serves as an ICC 500 rated storm shelter. The building design follows sustainable design principles and incorporates Minnesota B-3 Guidelines and the SB 2030 Energy Standard requirements.

This is another learning center implemented as part of an overall Strategic Facilities and Real Estate Plan that was developed by ORB Management in collaboration with SWWC back in 2017.  ORB has been engaged as the Owner’s Representative to orchestrate multiple learning centers across the southwestern region of Minnesota.
