Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC)Marshall Educational Learning Center (ELC)

Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC) - Marshall Educational Learning Center (ELC) -- this 50,000-square foot renovation is the result of a unique partnership between SWWC, Southwest Minnesota State University, and Marshall Public Schools. ORB Management was instrumental in bringing the parties together to develop a long-term mutually beneficial lease agreement as the Owner’s Representative.

An existing educational building was renovated for SWWC students and staff to occupy the first floor of the facility, while Marshall Public School students and staff occupy the second floor as an alternative learning center. A shared cafeteria, serving area, and indoor recreation space are located on the first floor. Site improvements such as parking, student drop-off areas, and a controlled outdoor playground were also part of the project.

ORB Management guided the team to a solution of two learning communities to include space for classrooms, dedicated motor and life skills rooms, and administrative offices. A common learning space was designed specifically to meet the needs of education students with severe disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, and/or students with behavior issues.
