Marshall Public Schools | Site & Parking Improvements
Creating a safer, more intuitive arrival experience for students, families, and staff.
The start and end of the school day bring a concentrated mix of vehicles, buses, pedestrians and cyclists onto the school campus. For Marshall Public Schools, improving the parking lot presented an opportunity to address more than aging infrastructure. It was an opportunity to rethink how people safely move through the site.
ORB Management worked alongside Marshall Public Schools and the project team to coordinate site improvements focused on safety, circulation and a better daily experience for students, families and staff.
The school used dedicated Long-Term Facilities Maintenance funds for the project, which included a dedicated drop-off zone designed to create a more organized arrival and departure process, along with a left bypass lane to improve vehicle circulation and reduce congestion. A new bike path and designated bike lane also provide a safer route for students and cyclists, allowing them to avoid crossing the parking lot entrance and reducing potential conflicts with vehicle traffic.
Throughout the project, ORB coordinated the various improvements around one clear priority: creating a site that works better for the people who use it every day.
Completed in time for students to return, the improvements helped Marshall Public Schools begin the new school year with a safer, more intuitive and less stressful arrival experience.
The Marshall Public School District is replacing its deteriorating Marshall Middle School parking lot using Long-Term Facilities Maintenance (LTFM) funds, a separate budget line that covers maintenance and accessibility-based improvements to existing school sites without drawing from operational funds.
