Fellowship of Christian Athletes National Hockey Headquarters Alexandria Minnesota
A Collaboration between the NorthStar Christian Academy and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
The NorthStar Christian Academy’s purpose is to train students to independently and critically think while providing an opportunity to embrace a Biblical world view. The new campus consists of a full-curriculum high school for NorthStar Christian Academy students while offering classes to other students attending Alexandria High School. The Academy has a chapel and indoor assembly space for worship services, conferences and teaching functions.
The second component to the campus consists of an indoor hockey facility for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The hockey facility serves as the North American Headquarters. It houses a full-size rink, spectator seating and all necessary support spaces including locker rooms, concessions and coaching amenities. Also, the master plan for the campus is designed to accommodate future expansion of the school as well as residence halls. Lastly, the plan has dedicated a substantial portion of the site to outdoor sports fields.
The FCA National Hockey Division toured prospective communities in all 48 continental United States to find the ideal community to develop and construct their national headquarters and training facility. After being short-listed along side of four other cities, Alexandria was the community selected as the home for their new facility.
The collaboration between the FCA and the NCA Board was established in the planning of the new NorthStar Christian Academy. ORB helped navigate the development, planning, design, and construction processes as well as advised on the land purchase.
