Building Automation System Upgrade for Marshall Public Schools
ORB Management was selected by Marshall Public Schools (MPS) to serve as the owner’s representative for a Building Automation System (BAS) conversion and upgrade at the High School. The existing system was original to the building and no longer supported, prompting the need for a complete modernization.
Working closely with MPS, ORB led the procurement and selection process for both a commissioning firm and a controls contractor. From initial planning through implementation, ORB has overseen every phase of the project to ensure alignment with MPS goals and performance standards.

The BAS upgrade included:

A new graphical user interface and network controllers

New controllers for all air-handling components

Upgraded communication lines to all system components

Installation of new thermostat sensors, as well as additional actuators and sensors
The new system will not only restore support and functionality, but significantly improve building comfort, energy efficiency, and temperature control.
Project Highlights:
- Over 3.5 miles of wire will be installed throughout the building
- More than 2,300 labor hours are estimated, with 1,100+ dedicated to the installation of controls
