Through an extensive search for the right partner, ORB Management was selected to be the Owner’s Representative for Astera Health (formerly known as Tri-County Health Care) to create a new, critical access healthcare facility in Wadena, MN.  Astera’s Leadership has a vision and aspiration to change how rural healthcare was served for today and into the future.

The facility encompasses 135,000 square feet of space located on a 72-acre site just west of town.  Approximately half of the space is dedicated for clinical support, rehabilitation, and specialty treatment while the balance of the facility created a Ready Care space, four (4) operatories, a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), in-patient and universal spaces, lab, pharmacy, imaging, sleep rooms and provider lounge.

The result is a facility that is changing the way rural healthcare is providing services with on-stage/off-stage platforms for providers and greater privacy for patients seeking high quality medical care.  The site required annexation into the City of Wadena with extensions of all public utility infrastructure, along with collaborations with MnDOT, Wadena County, Ottertail Counties, and the USDA.  In collaboration with all stakeholders, ORB facilitated planning and real estate strategies, created the implementation team, coordinated the financing and brought their plan to fruition.
