ALP New Operations Center

ALP Utilities in Alexandria is in the final stages of a nearly 6-year process of planning and implementing a capital project – including a new operations center campus with corporate offices, vehicle storage, pole yard, and placeholders for a future substation, power generation and water tower.  The project is positioned to meet the demands of community growth, increase future service reliability, address facility security and consolidate aging storage buildings into one campus to streamline operations. 

ORB Management was selected as the Owner’s Representative to help ALP navigate the planning and implementation of the capital project including strategic real estate analysis, capital sources/uses and risk management, project team on-boarding, stakeholder decision-making guidance, design/construction process leadership, and final close-out/occupancy.   

The new 41,000 square foot building will serve as ALP’s headquarters and main campus. The operations center represents phase I of their strategic capital improvement plan with room for future expansion to include a substation, power generation and water tower. This will position ALP to meet Alexandria’s needs for decades to come.
